Alterric at WindEnergy Hamburg 2026: Experience Wind Farm Monitoring Live

Aurich, September 17, 2026. Alterric is participating in this year’s WindEnergy Hamburg. Throughout the trade fair, the energy company will be showcasing its work in the planning, construction, and operation of wind farms at booth 302 in Hall A4. A highlight of the company’s presence is its own control center, which visitors can see in live operation. WindEnergy Hamburg is considered one of the most important industry events for wind energy worldwide. Alterric is using the trade fair as an opportunity to engage with industry professionals, potential partners, and the general public.

“For us, WindEnergy Hamburg is a vital venue for exchanging ideas with the entire industry,” says Dr. Frank May, CEO of Alterric. “Through professional operation, decentralized wind energy plants can optimize the availability of energy supplies and meet the requirements for critical infrastructure. With our control center, we demonstrate how we at Alterric put this commitment into practice every day—evolving from a simple electricity generator into a key player within the energy system. In doing so, we contribute to security of supply, competitiveness, and a resilient energy infrastructure for Germany as an industrial hub.”

Control Center Live at the Exhibition Booth

At its booth, Alterric is showcasing its control center in active operation. It monitors and manages approximately 1,200 wind turbines across 250 wind farms, with a total capacity of around 2.5 gigawatts. The system captures operational data in real time, identifies potential malfunctions at an early stage, and allows for the safe remote switching of turbines during maintenance or in the event of a fault.

In addition to technical parameters, the control center also accounts for electricity market requirements as well as environmental and community protection regulations—such as those concerning bat conservation, shadow flicker, and noise mitigation. The control center is also used to coordinate the deployment of service teams and manage safety-related authorizations.

For those interested, Alterric is offering several time slots throughout the trade fair during which the work of the control center will be presented in detail. Each session lasts approximately 20 minutes and will take place at the company’s exhibition stand in Hall A4, Stand 302.

Alterric to Participate in Panel on the Future of Storage Technologies

Malte Neuendorff, Head of Marketing at Alterric, will take part in a panel discussion as part of the trade fair program. The discussion will focus on how storage technologies can strengthen the integration of renewable energy, enhance system flexibility, and ensure security of supply. Participants will also explore the growing importance of integrated generation and storage solutions, as well as the regulatory frameworks required in Europe to facilitate investment, flexibility, and efficient grid utilization.

Alterric is progressively adding storage systems to its existing wind farms, combining power generation and flexibility at a single site. Building on this approach, the company is also expanding its capabilities in system operations: Alterric is active in the market for balancing services and provides reactive power to help stabilize the grid.
